A Step-by-Step Guide to Exporting Data Efficiently and Understanding Credit Usage

Whether you’re building prospect lists, prepping for outreach, or analyzing market segments, BiopharmIQ makes it easy to download company and contact information. But knowing exactly how downloads work, what files you get, and how download credits are used can make all the difference.

This guide will walk you through the entire process from saving your list to downloading companies and contacts, while answering common questions around credits and exports.

📌 Before You Begin: Understanding Download Credits

1 credit = 1 company Whether you download just the company name, full profile, or include contacts (with emails), only one credit per company is used.
You receive 2 files per list download:
- A CSV with company-level data (1 row per company)
- A CSV with contact-level data (1 row per contact)
Credits do not double if you include contacts—they’re bundled into the 1 credit per company.
Annual plans: Your credits renew once per year, and unused credits roll over.
Quarterly plans: Your credits renew once per quarter, and unused credits roll over.

💬 Example: If you download a list of 350 companies with contacts, it will use exactly 350 credits, not 700.

Step 1: Save Companies to a List

From any search (e.g., Company Screener, Clinical Trials, Funding Activity):

Click View Actions above the results
Choose “Save x Companies to New List”- You can also select your preferred companies using the checkbox next to “Company”
Name your list (e.g., Phase 2 US Companies) and save it

Your list is now available in the Saved Lists module in the left-hand navigation menu.

Step 2: Download from the Saved Lists Module

Navigate to Saved Lists
Locate the list you want to export
In the Actions column, click the Download icon

You’ll be prompted to choose:

✅ Download Company Details
✅ Download Contacts
✅ Include Emails for the Contacts

Once selected, the download begins, and 1 credit per company is deducted from your account.

Step 3: What You’ll Receive

BiopharmIQ automatically provides two CSV files per download:

Company CSV: 1 row per company with name, location, website, stage, specialties, etc.
Contacts CSV: 1 row per contact, including title, email (if available), and LinkedIn link

❓Can I Download Just the Company Names Without Using Credits?

Currently, any download action—even just names—requires 1 credit per company. There is no export-only-name feature that bypasses credit usage.

If you only want to track names, we recommend manually noting them or reviewing them directly in the platform to preserve credits.

Answer: It will use 451 credits total. Downloading both company and contact info always counts as 1 credit per company.
